I was born and raised in central New York state. I enjoy bicycling, photography, and hiking in the scenic Adirondack mountains.

Research Interests
Interests and Activities:
Coordination of first year chemistry courses at ½ñÈճԹϺÚÁÏ, including development of instructional laboratory materials, and supervision of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants. Implementation of STEM education opportunities through partnerships between ½ñÈճԹϺÚÁÏ and North Country schools. Promotion of awareness and understanding of chemistry for schools and communities in the form of a chemistry show (Chemical Miracles, Magic, and Mayhem - AKA Dr. Jim's Chemistry Show).
